SFSPac® for K-12 School Nutrition Programs
In 1992, PortionPac developed the SFSPac Program to focus solely on K-12 school nutrition departments and to provide School Nutrition professionals the ability to better manage and control their sanitation and safety programs. Over the years, we’ve worked closely with the School Nutrition Association to continuously improve the SFSPac Product System and SFSPac Programming we provide.
We are passionate about food safety and understand that it is more than just products and procedures. It is critical that food service professionals are provided with practical tools they can use in their day-to-day operations. We partner with you to help ensure food service areas are clean, safe and compliant. The SFSPac Program offers a complete system that includes scheduled visits from a professional SFSPac technician who provides the education and documentation needed to verify a successfully operating Food Safety System.
The SFSPac Program is a national program that delivers on the job staff training, standardization of procedures and supplies, documentation of results, OSHA and HACCP training and compliance verification—all for one set cost. The SFSPac Industry Program is used in thousands of K-12 schools throughout the United States and is considered the industry’s premier sanitation and safety system. The SFSPac Program allows you to concentrate on the more important challenge of managing your department along with the ultimate goal of satisfying your customers—the kids!
Process & Benefits
Shared Savings – The SFSPac Program is designed to provide so much more than just cleaning products and procedures; it’s a complete sanitation solution for school nutrition departments. We offer your district the state-of-the-art purchasing methods used in lean manufacturing operation. Food safety procedures, cleaning materials, education, documentation and verification are bundled together to leverage your investment to maximize value. A set fee simplifies budgeting, eliminates the need for purchase orders and, most importantly, provides the comfort of knowing that each school nutrition operation is receiving the attention it needs to meet your district objectives.
HACCP Compliance – As long time advocates of food safety we understand your commitment to children and the mandates you face. It’s our job to provide you with the most accurate information and tools available to help ensure your success. Working with the most respected school nutrition experts, the SFSPac Program offers a comprehensive HACCP Food Safety Verification Program, and when necessary, can design a custom program built for your district’s unique menu, food preparation and operational needs. The SFSPac Program includes a standardized system for confirming procedures are implemented properly. Our SFSPac technicians provide ongoing verification and electronic documentation of compliance as well as corrective actions to ensure your food safety program is working properly.
Environmental Responsibility – As a division of PortionPac Chemical Corporation, the SFSPac Program has a unique advantage to help schools meet their environmental goals. PortionPac has more than 40 years worth of leadership in environmental responsibility. Recent recognition includes the Chicago Manufacturing Center’s Sustainable Leadership Program, Mayor Daley’s GreenWorks Award and the State of Illinois Governor’s Pollution Prevention Award. The SFSPac Program was developed for school food service using these same environmental, social and economic principles. As a result, the SFSPac Program reduces the use of energy, water and cleaning materials as well as reduces the volume of waste generated by your department. This positively impacts your bottom line and overall employee and student health.
Education & Training
A professional SFSPac technician visits each kitchen on a set schedule to help monitor your Food Safety System. The technician will focus on a food safety topic chosen from a comprehensive list of Education Modules provided by SNA for 1 CEU credit. To supplement the Education Modules, the SFSPac Industry Program also provides written and multimedia procedures as well as product and procedure guides and charts. If corrective action re-education is necessary, the technician will provide it on the spot. Our most experienced technicians are SFSPac Certified and have successfully completed SNA Certification, ServSafe® Certification, the OSHA Awareness Course and CPR training.
Support
Our technicians are always there to help implement your SFSPac Program. They use handheld computers to gather information for service reports. Those reports are sent after each service rotation noting training conducted as well as issues you need to be aware of. We make sure you never get blindsided by an issue relating to sanitation and safety. It’s like having an additional supervisor in the field whose sole job is to focus on sanitation and safety.
